Car Problems
hubby’s car had to go to the garage today but fortunately only cost £60. The garage are very dependable and cheap!! Hoping to use what’s left of this month’s overtime to pend sometime away from this house and stay with friends. Haven’t told them about our cashflow problems (understatement!!) but we’ll take some cheap plonk and eat in. Now the children are getting older, they will quite happily go to the park so we’re going to chill and not plan any daytrips that cost but have a little money to spend.
 Son has been asking for a new xbox game and map packs for COD5 – it pains me to tell him no but I think long term he needs to know that things don’t come straight away and that you do have to wait for things. We have told him that if he got a paper round one of us would go with him but he can keep the money but he says he’s not that bothered! I do worrry now that we have given him bad habits as far as money goes – he’s never really asked for things, we’ve always just given him things straight away as WE wanted him to have the stuff.
Hubby and I have spent alot of time in the garden and it’s looking really good and we’ve been out every evening just sitting by the chimnea with a cheap wine spritzer. We’re talking alot more than we ever were and are already planning what we’ll do with the £954 we’ll have extra each month when the IVA is over – we’ve been all around the world so far!! We’re quite enjoying the freedom from endless creditors calling and dreading all the mail that landed almost daily telling us what we already knew – and charging us £12 for each letter!!
We are both very determind never to get into this situation again and although I’ve prayed so many times for a lottery win, I do think that we’re going through a very valuable tough time and just clearing the debts would have seen us racking up the credit / loans again very soon. This is a long hard road and it’s only the journey down this path that will stop us choosing this road again. I am enjoying the blogging and have joined the weight loss thread – I’ve had so much support for our money issues that I’m sure with the super support from everyone that I’ll drop the spare 4 stone really quickly!!!!
